Alexis is a first-year medical student at Duquesne University College Osteopathic of Medicine. Prior to joining the Rizzo Lab in December of 2024, she worked as a research technician in the Medoff Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her previous projects focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms of asthma and pulmonary fibrosis. Her work at this early career stage was highly productive and she has co-authored publications in high impact journals including Science Immunology, AJRCMB, JACI, AJP Lung, and Chest Critical Care. She is excited to continue on the path towards becoming a physician scientist in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine through an independent project focused on the role of glycocalyx degradation in Acute Lung Injury with the Rizzo Laboratory.
